| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The HP Pavilion 2159m offers support for HDCP enables the monitor to display HDTV resolution if connected by the DVI connector. A monitor without HDCP support, or connected by analog VGA, causes the displayed video to be downgraded in quality to a DVD-like resolution that is less than HDTV

Died after 3 months to the day August 26, 2010 Carsten Langrock The monitor was sufficiently OK for the money until this morning when it wouldn't display anything but black. No menus, no video, just audio, no matter what input (DVI, VGA, or HDMI). Tried several computers and video cameras to no avail; the monitor is plugged into an APC UPS, so a power surge is unlikely, especially since all the other electronic equipment connected to that same backup system are still fine. I contacted customer support and they told me that they'll send out a replacement monitor. Let's see how long that one will last and who'll pick up the cost for shipping the broken one back for recycling. From a video quality perspective, a Cinema display handily beats this monitor, but that's like saying that a BMW outperforms a Ford Fiesta. It's a fine display for casual use when it is working.
Great Nonitor July 22, 2010 Robert Cummings (Crestview, FL, US) I bought this one as a matched pair to the one I had - it's an excellent monitor.
Good Monitor, Cant complain HP is good product June 29, 2010 Hupton HP hasnt let me down for the most part, this monitor is great for the price, its great in general
Great monitor for home computing and movie watching! June 21, 2010 clake This monitor is a great value - giving you a large screen with a crystal-clear hi-definition image for a relatively low price. I bought this to go with a new Gateway desktop. The internet looks great, DVDs look great, and high-def TV looks fantastic. I've given this a 5-star review despite the built-in speakers, which are adequate for ordinary TV viewing in a relatively quiet room, but not nearly what you need for enjoying your music collection or internet radio. For the price, though, I didn't expect much of the speakers so I wasn't at all disappointed with this.
As someone else mentioned, there aren't any extra USB ports on the monitor, so you can't plug your mouse, keyboard or other peripherals directly into it. With my setup this doesn't matter all all.
Easy to see monitor June 21, 2010 Susan Taylor (Apollo Beach, FL) The 5 year old monitor was 17" and considered old technology. The HP high definition monitor is large, bright and so clear. It's like watching a new HD tv.
